Our Year 5 class visited Carlisle Cathedral on Thursday 2 February and took part in a workshop looking at the gargoyles and misericords in the Cathedral. The children then used those examples as inspiration to create their own. First they sketched their designs, and then created 3D models using clay.

As part of their lessons about sculpture, our Year 5 children learned about the shape and form of bird's nests before creating their own using a variety of recycled materials. Take a look at the children working of their designs as well as some of the finished models.
