As the final part of their Food Technology Unit, Year 5 ambitiously decided to host a dinner party for their parents. They did not make it simple for themselves; instead they decided to offer a three course meal with all the trimmings - menu cards, table decorations, even live music! The event obviously took a lot of organising and thought as, amongst lots of other things, shopping lists had to be compiled and budgets considered. On the day itself the entire class, plus a few very welcome volunteers, worked tirelessly to prepare the food and set the tables so that it was all ready for the guests arriving at 5pm. The evening was a resounding success - the food was delicious, service wonderful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Huge congratulations to Year 5 for creating such a special evening. Also, massive thanks to the volunteers who joined in to support the children and to the staff for overseeing it all. Mrs Porter and Mrs Hodgson were busy all day and Mrs Martin and Miss Scotton were also instrumental in making sure the whole event ran smoothly. Finally, well done to our guitarist who played beautifully and brought the evening to a close with a singalong 'Merry Christmas Everybody'- what a star!. Here are a few pictures to give you a flavour of the day - if you click here there are plenty more.
